Episode 03 - Director Malika Zouhali-Worrall

In this week's conversation, we get a chance to chat with our first director! Malika Zouhali-Worrall is a former classmate of mine who has since gone on to co-direct the award-winning film, Call Me Kuchu and the heartbreaking and uplifting piece Thank You for Playing. We get into her drive to develop those films, discuss her inspirations for getting into documentary filmmaking and even dig into the Netflix show Narcos.

In the episode, Malika mentions a Medium piece about the "empathy machine" in documentary funding, which leads to a small potential target audience. Here you can read Sonya Childress's thoughts.
